Posted by fcpltech on May 18, 2010

The Frankfort Library received an LSTA Innovation grant to purchase equipment and software to start our Mobile Digital Media Lab, better known as Digi-Dock(TM)

Digi-Dock(TM) is a so-called “dock,” which is really a large case (trunk) on wheels that we can roll around the library, where we keep all of our digital media equipment.

The equipment and software can be used for various purposes in the library and includes: 2 studio-ready laptops with Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium, FL Studio Producer edition, and Audacity; a Digi-Design mbox 2; an Ashly MX-406 mixer and input/output patch panel; 3 hand-held dynamic microphones; 1 hand-held wireless microphone; 2 speakers; 2 speaker stands; 1 pair of professional headphones; a digital videocamera; a digital sound recorder; and 1 camera/sound recorder tripod.

Contact pseabolt@accs.net for more information about Digi-Dock(TM) or to see about using it for yourself!

Digi-Dock(TM) is funded through an LSTA Innovation grant funded by the Institute for Museum & Library Services (IMLS) administered by the Indiana State Library.

Library Receives LSTA Innovation Grant

Posted by fcpltech on November 5, 2009

The Frankfort Community Public Library has received an LSTA Innovation grant administered by the Indiana State Library funded by the Institute for Museum & Library Services (IMLS)

The Innovation grant is funding “Shaping the Future with Digital Media: From Consumer to Creator,” which will be used to purchase digital media tools and equipment for a Mobile Digital Media Lab for the Frankfort Community Public Library.  Included in the grant is audio and video recording equipment and software.  We plan to have programs for teens and to use the equipment with Clinton County Youth Theatre productions and workshops.  Workshops will also be held for teachers from the local middle and high schools to gain a better understanding of digital media available and how to promote their use to their students.  We will also hold workshops for local small businesses so they can learn how to use these tools in their businesses.  The equipment will be made available to the public upon request.

Keep on the lookout for programming coming in the next few months to learn more about digital media equipment and what you can do with it!
